We’re thrilled that the new Spring Barn will open for weddings from April 2026, replacing the current Event Suite. With an impressive and rare ‘hammerbeam’ style oak frame and cathedral-like ceiling detail, it’s a beautiful room truly worthy of the best day of your life.

Perhaps its most striking feature is a wall of windows at the water’s end, letting those spectacular estuary views and glorious natural light flood in. You’ll also love the in-room bar, vibrant dancefloor area and cosy lounge seating – carefully arranged to keep all your guests together for a fun and relaxed celebration.

The Spring Barn

We’re currently working closely with our architects on the finer design details for the Spring Barn, and want everything to be perfect for our big reveal! In the meantime, the artist’s impression above will give you a flavour of how the room will look.

The finer details

The Spring Barn will be a similar size to our current Event Suite, meaning you can still get a real sense of the space when visiting for a viewing. It will be positioned a little further back in line with the Hop Barn, with the expanded terrace perfect for your drinks reception and soaking up the views.

The style of the oak frame is called ‘Hammerbeam’. It boasts ‘Cathedral’ like characteristics, with intricate roof detail and a self-supporting structure, meaning it is clear span, with no columns anywhere in the room obstructing views. A barn of this size without beams floor to ceiling is very rare, and will not only look fantastic, but provide a great, unobstructed experience for your guests.

Internally, the barn will have oak beams, some exposed brick (not as much as the current Hop Barn), and lots of glass to let the light flood in.

There will be bi-fold opening doors at the garden end of Spring Barn, to maximise the views over the estuary, and the connection to the terrace and gardens. The doors will be on the end of the Barn facing the water.

There will be a dance area, with different dance floor options, at the same end of the building as it is now.

Guests will have access to the new in-room bar during the wedding breakfast and evening reception.

There will be toilets where the current bar is in the Hop Barn.

With breathtaking views of the Swale estuary, the Spring Barn is our newest ceremony space, from April 2026. Included in packages for 130-260 guests, it perfectly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. It is also available for smaller weddings as a package extra. The Spring Barn is both elegant and relaxed. Featuring our rustic cross-back chairs and bi-folding doors that open onto the terrace, it provides an effortless transition from ceremony to drinks reception, either alfresco or in your own private pub, and offers a stunning backdrop of the beautiful gardens, the estuary and beyond as you exchange vows.

Spring Barn Wedding Breakfasts

The Spring Barn offers a truly unique setting for your barn wedding breakfast. This stunning new space can comfortably seat 260 guests, or more in a variety of bespoke layouts. Under the grandeur of a hammerbeam oak frame, it's designed with no vertical beams - ensuring every guest enjoys uninterrupted views of your celebrations. The Spring Barn is bathed in natural light from large bi-folding doors, which can be opened to let in the fresh breeze, seamlessly blending the indoors with the beauty of the surrounding landscape. With exposed brick, elegant oak beams and an inviting in-room bar open from the start of your meal, the Spring Barn creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing you and your guests to savour every moment of your wedding.

Spring Barn Evening Receptions

As the evening unfolds, the Spring Barn transforms into the perfect space for your reception for up to 350 guests. With the venue exclusively yours, the private pub will be sectioned off to keep the party together and the atmosphere lively! The in-room bar will remain open, ensuring the celebration flows seamlessly from day to night. Your guests can step outside into the new courtyard lounge complete with firepit, where festoon lights twinkle overhead. Inside, the dance floor awaits, with our in-house DJ ready to set the perfect vibe.

Since taking over The Ferry House in 2000, we’ve worked hard to enhance every aspect, ensuring our renovations are completed to the highest standard and on schedule.
