We have private dining options to suit everything from intimate dinners for two to lively gatherings of up to 180 guests.

The Ferry House is a restaurant brimming with character – original beams, Kentish hops, and roaring fires in the cooler months, all set against a backdrop of wild wetland reserves and estuary views. This rustic charm is matched by our 2AA Rosette, plot-to-plate ethos, with menus crafted from our homegrown, family-farmed and estate-grown ingredients.

We have a range of private dining spaces to suit every occasion – from cosy indoor settings, to scenic outdoor spots overlooking the estuary. Whether you’re after a fully private dining experience or a semi-private space with its own tucked-away charm, we’ll help you find the perfect setting for your gathering.

The Hop Barn

Our Hop Barn is available on select dates for 10-70 guests for seated dining, or up to 130 guests for a delicious and relaxed grazing table, with the option of a private bar.

Sit down under a canopy of Kentish hops and fairy lights, enjoying estuary views from the French Doors. These lead to a private terrace and gardens for your exclusive use. The Hop Barn is also just a stone’s throw from the Kitchen Garden, and can make a stroll here part of your private dining experience.

The Oak Gazebo

The ideal alfresco space for intimate private restaurant dining, the Oak Gazebo overlooks the Swale estuary and can seat 2-10 diners. Set in a secluded spot within a private terrace, it comes complete with heaters, your choice of music and a personal waiter.

The Event Suite

Holding up to 180 guests for seated dining, or 250 for a relaxed grazing table experience, the Event Suite is the ideal choice for large private dining parties. Floor to ceiling bi-fold windows let in our beautiful estuary views, and open to a private terrace & gardens for your use during your celebration. The room has private washrooms, and the option of a private bar.

Dine on grass-grazed beef from the Burden family farm, just minutes from our door, seasonal produce freshly picked daily from our Kitchen Garden and foraged finds from the wider Harty Estate.

Our drinks menu showcases Kent’s finest, from local wines and beers to spirits distilled from grains grown on our family farm. You’ll also find our own ‘Kitchen Garden’ cocktails and mocktails, infused with herbs and botanicals grown just steps from your table.
