Interestingly, the hamlet of Harty where you’ll find The Ferry House is in fact it’s own little isle. It’s separated from the rest of the Isle of Sheppey by a narrow road causeway over one of the fleet rivers that makes our landscape so beautiful and unique.

It’s from here that you’ll find the ‘Isle of Harty Trail’. A blissful, easy and circular route through country to coast, via the beautiful and historic Harty Church.

Flanked by two wetland bird reserves, it goes without saying that the landscape around The Ferry House is blessed with beautiful and abundant species of birds.

Home to more than half of the country's breeding ‘Harrier’ population as well as numerous varieties of owls and kestrels, birds of prey swooping above the Harty fields are our most impressive daily sight. You’re also bound to catch more than a glimpse of our wild fowl species, including pheasants and partridges, as well as the many birds that make the estuary shoreline their home.

Fun, sociable and a real memory-maker, marshmallow toasting over our large fire pit is the perfect team bonding experience. You’ll find it set within a large landscaped garden, flanked by a private terrace and our oak gazebo, with stunning views down to the estuary completing a picture-perfect scene.
